PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating device capable of enhancing the coating quality by preventing occurrence of uneven coating in the width direction of a base material, and to provide a manufacturing method of an electrode.SOLUTION: A coating device 10 has a rod 23 for coating the coating surface 1a of a base material 1 with a coating material 2. In the outer peripheral surface of the rod 23, inclined grooves 25 for holding the coating material are formed so that the total cross sectional area of the inclined grooves 25 per a predetermined unit length in the axial direction of the rod 23 is smaller on the end side than in the central part in the axial direction. |
