METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC CHANGE DETECTION BASED ON AREAL FEATURE MATCHING IN DIFFERENT NETWORK DATASETS

The present invention relates to a change detecting method applying a side object based matching technique after changing a linear road object into a side block by using a heterogeneous road network data set in which building time is different. The change detecting method comprises (a) a step for extracting road network data from each heterogeneous road network data set having different building time connected to a network in a updating device and changing the same into the side block surrounded by the linear road object; (b) a step for enabling the updating device to determine a pair of blocks in which a shape similarity degree is more than a predetermined value by using the shape similarity degree calculated by a weight linear combination of a position reference, a shape reference, and a size reference for the pair of blocks which is intersected with blocks generated in the heterogeneous road network data set; (c) a step for enabling the updating device to detect change in which a road is created inside the block of the pair of blocks by using a concave polygon feature; (d) a step for enabling the updating device to detect change in which the road is created in the determined blocks and the block is divided into a pieces of blocks by using a dividing graph based group collection and (e) a step for enabling the updating device to extract updating road object linearity from a new road network data set of the blocks by using correspondence. The present invention is provided to automatically detect the change and extract an updating road object by using the new road network data set which is monthly updated in the heterogeneous road network data set having a vector structure in which the building time is different, thereby remarkably reducing road updating costs of geographic information applied to a navigation device or the like and rapidly updating the road network data set in which a short updating period is required.
