<p>The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for acquiring a depth image, capable of acquiring the depth image of a subject located at a long distance. The apparatus for acquiring the depth image includes: a light irradiation unit to irradiate first light having a first diffusion angle and second light having a second diffusion angle different from the first diffusion angle to a predetermined subject; a photodetector to receive the first and second light reflected from the subject; a depth image processing unit to extract information of the depth image from the light received from the photodetector; and a control unit to control the light irradiation unit and the photodetector. In this case, the light irradiation unit may include a light source unit to output light, a first diffusion unit to diffuse the light emitted from the light source unit at the first diffusion angle for a first time, and a second diffusion unit to diffuse the light emitted from the light source unit at a second angle different from the first diffusion angle for a second time.</p> |
