<p>The present invention relates to a skin whitening composition containing an extract of Rhododendron molle (Blume) G. Don as an active ingredient. The extract of Rhododendron molle (Blume) G. Don exhibits high antioxidant activity, inhibits activity of tyrosinase, and controls synthesis of melanin. Moreover, the extract inhibits synthesis of melanin more excellently than ascorbic acid, the prior whitening agent, does when the extract is applied to a B16F1 melanoma cell includingα-MSH. Therefore, the skin whitening composition can be widely used as a safe and effective whitening agent.</p> |
