The method comprises receiving a data request and determining origin location information of the data request from a source providing information having accuracy to a predetermined standard. The method further comprises retrieving one or more policies associated with the requested data, comparing the origin location information with the policies, and dynamically adjusting access restrictions to the requested data based on the comparison.

1. A method comprising:
receiving a data request that originated at a first device from a user; obtaining first location information for the user, the first location information having a first level of accuracy for determining a location of the user; retrieving one or more policies associated with the requested data; comparing the first location information with the one or more policies; determining that the first level of accuracy is less than a level of accuracy required to determine whether access restrictions apply to the requested data, based on the comparison; obtaining second location information from the user, the second location information having a second level of accuracy that is greater than or equal to the level of accuracy required to determine whether access restrictions apply to the requested data; and determining whether access restrictions apply to the requested data based at least in part on the second location information, wherein obtaining second location information comprises: requesting the user to transmit the second location information from a second device, and receiving the second location information from the second device.
