The method for removing chromium represents an effective manner of processing the wastes resulting from the mechanical process of tanning leather. The effectiveness of this method consists in the separation of chromium from the proteins hydrolyzates obtained from the hydrolysis of the chromium-tanned leather and the possibility of using the products by separate. The process is performed by using an alkaline hydrolysis assisted by proteolytic enzymes and cyclohexylamine. The protein hydrolizate is a mixture of amino acids useful for the manufacture of food supplements for birds or for the manufacture of cosmetics. The process of the present invention, unlike conventional processes, uses cyclohexylamine and obtains a practically chromium-free hydrolyzed of high purity. The main advantage of the inventive method is the obtention of a water-soluble hydrolyzed, which may be used in the production of cosmetics. Another advantage of the method is the removal of chromium and the efficiency of the separation of the same and the possibility of using it in processes as a re-tanning agent.
|
