METHOD FOR BIOTIN-AVIDIN ENZYME-LINKED IMMUNOSORBENT ASSAY FOR RESPIRATORY TRACT VIRUSES

Disclosed is a method for biotin-avidin enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for respiratory tract viruses, combining the high magnification effect of the biotin-avidin system with the specificity of antigen-antibody recognition to establish a new testing method for the detection of respiratory tract viruses. The sensitivity of the present assay method for the detection of respiratory tract viruses is superior to that of ELISA and somewhat inferior to that of RT-PCR, but in respect of specificity is identical; accordingly, the present technical method satisfies the requirements for clinical detection of respiratory tract viruses. The present method is easy to perform and inexpensive and is particularly suitable for swift early diagnosis of respiratory tract viral infections.
