This invention provides a load balancer and the like that implement appropriate load-balancing in an event-processing system. Said load balancer is provided with the following: an acquiring means for acquiring reception statuses, each of which is information that represents the number or information size of events received by a sorting device within a prescribed period; and an updating means for updating destination-determining rules on the basis of said reception statuses so as to equalize the loads on a plurality of sorting devices as said sorting devices forward events from event sources to a processing device. |
