PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having good display qualities.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: a first substrate which includes a first insulating substrate, a first organic insulating film disposed in a peripheral area outside an active area for displaying an image on the first insulating substrate, and a mounting part located in the peripheral area and for mounting a signal supply source; a second substrate which includes a second insulating substrate and a second organic insulating film disposed in the peripheral area on a counter side of the second insulating substrate to the first substrate and which exposes the mounting part; a sealing material which is laid between the first organic insulating film and the second organic insulating film in the peripheral area and which bonds the first substrate with the second substrate; a resin layer which is located between the first organic insulating film and the second organic insulating film in the peripheral area and is formed into a rectangular frame with a linear segment along the mounting part being formed wider than other segments; and a liquid crystal layer which is held between the first substrate and the second substrate in an area enclosed by the sealing material. |
