<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transient voltage surge suppression device for an electronic component which prevents destructive damage from being given to a circuit or component to be protected in a severe state where connection of a neutral line or a ground line of a system is lost or a repeating current pulse is received from lightning.SOLUTION: A first surface 52a of a tube-like voltage sensitive element (MOV) 52 and an end cap 92 are connected, a second surface 52b is connected with a second conductive lining 72, and the second conductive lining 72 is energized so as to be separated from the second surface 52b. Electrical connection with the second surface 52b is retained by a thermal element 122, and the voltage sensitive element (MOV) 52 is heated by an overvoltage state sensed by the voltage sensitive element (MOV) 52. When it is heated equal to or higher than a softening temperature of the thermal element 122, the voltage sensitive element (MOV) 52 and the second conductive lining 72 are separated, a current path is cut off, and a barrier element 132 is moved to and disposed in a separated part.</p> |
