摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize a frequency of cleaning of a discharge electrode by detecting the degree of contamination of the discharge electrode due to sticking of toner with high precision.SOLUTION: An image formation apparatus 10 includes a pre-transfer charger 46, a cleaning member, an image density detection part 12, a toner amount detection sensor 13, an adjustment part 14, and a control part 10. The pre-transfer charger 46 has a corona wire. The cleaning member cleans the corona wire. The image density detection part 12 acquires image density information based upon image data. The toner amount detection sensor 13 detects an amount of toner, carried by an intermediate transfer belt 41, per unit area. The adjustment part 14 adjusts a development bias voltage value based upon the amount of toner. The control part 10 controls a frequency of cleaning by the cleaning member based upon the image density information and the development bias voltage value after the adjustment.
