PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adjusting a position of a sheet material, capable of precisely adjusting a position in the width direction of the traveling sheet material, and decreased in a fear of increasing a tensile force of the sheet material by frictional resistance between the sheet material and a member, and a fear of lowering accuracy of position adjustment by abrasion of the member.SOLUTION: A method for adjusting a position of a sheet material includes: using a first long rod-like member 11 and a second long rod-like member 12 arranged at an interval in parallel; letting a sheet material S travel in a state of winding on the first long rod-like member followed by passing a gap between the first long rod-like member and the second long rod-like member, and further winding on the second long rod-like member; and inclining the axial direction of the first long rod-like member and the second long rod-like member to a direction orthogonal to the traveling direction of the sheet material so as to displace the sheet material to the width direction. While the first long rod-like member and the second long rod-like member are each brought to a free roller rotatable in accordance with traveling of the sheet material, the rotation of the first long rod-like member and the second long rod-like member is braked with brakes 51 and 52. |
