<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly convenient projector configured to adjust the intensity of projection light according to the situation of a projection image of the projector so as to suppress unnecessary power consumption, and a control method of the same.SOLUTION: The projector includes a lamp 24, an image device 12 that modulates light on the basis of input image information to create and update a light image, an image projection unit 10 that projects projection light including the light image on an external screen 200 with the light from the lamp 24, and an illuminance sensor 17 that measures the brightness of the arrangement environment of the screen 200. The projector is further provided with control processing unit 21; when the specific state is detected in which the image device 12 substantially stops the update of the light image, and the brightness of the screen arrangement environment has increased compared with that before the update, the projector limits the intensity of the light from the lamp 24 under the specific state.</p> |
