A lifting device 100 comprising a guide rail 8 that is arranged from a lower portion 81 to the top portion 51 of the hoistway 5; a car frame of elevator 7 that is capable of going up and down, guided by the guide rail 8, by providing a guide shoe 9 engaging with the guide rail 8, and that is used as a platform placing the weight 1 for lifting to the vicinity of the top portion 5a of the hoistway 5; and a lifting machine 3 that lifts the car frame 7 placing the weight 1 to the top portion 5a, guided by the guide rail 8. Based on this, a labor of tool dismantling can be eliminated.
