Disclosed is an intake air cooling apparatus for an engine system that includes an intake line, which is connected to an intake manifold and has a turbine for a turbocharger, and an exhaust line, which is connected to an exhaust manifold and has a compressor for the turbocharger. The intake air cooling apparatus includes a cooling part that has at least one vortex tube disposed in the intake line between the compressor and the intake manifold; a bypass line that connects an inlet side of the cooling part of the intake line to an outlet side of the cooling part of the intake line to bypass the cooling part; and a control valve that opens the bypass line when pressure on the inlet side of the cooling part exceeds a reference value.
