PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain improvement in vibration damping performance, in a quay crane provided with a leg structure, a mast extended upward from the leg structure, a boom installed on the leg structure and a cargo handling device moved along the boom, while suppressing increase in overall weight of the crane. SOLUTION: The quay crane 1 provided with the leg structure 2, the mast 4 extended upward from the leg structure 2, the boom installed on the leg structure 2, and the cargo handling device 8 moved along the boom includes a sliding boom 3 slidable in a horizontal direction relative to the leg structure 2 and a horizontal fixing device fixing the sliding boom 3 to the leg structure 2, and has a configuration to release the horizontal fixing device to slidably control the sliding boom 3 relative to the leg structure 2 at the occurrence of an earthquake.
