Disclosed is a method for attaching an electronic identification device such as an RFID tag (109) to the body of a tool (400), comprising applying fixing primer (407), and subsequently one or more coats (453) of PVC to the tool. A primer-free strip (458) may be coated with PVC to enable the lifting of a pocket of the PVC layer and insertion of the RFID tag, or the RFID tag may be attached to the tool prior to application of the coat of PVC. The PVC may contain a fluorescent pigment. |
