1. A portable hand-held device, comprising:
a network interface configured to receive data from a device external to the portable hand-held device; multiple processing units configured to process the data received over a connection to the network interface; and an interconnection network, wherein the multiple processing units are interconnected to each other via the interconnection network separate from the connection to the network interface, and wherein each processing unit is configured to receive, in one clock cycle, multiple operands for processing by the processing unit via the interconnection network, wherein the interconnection network comprises:
a first set of connections between the multiple processing units, wherein the first set of connections includes connections between each processing unit in the multiple processing units and exactly two neighboring processing units to form a ring of the multiple processing units, anda second set of connections between the multiple processing units, wherein the second set of connections includes connections between each processing unit in the multiple processing units and the other processing units that are not the neighboring processing units connected by the first set of connections.
