An air stream sucked in from outside the vehicle passes through the water separating container, which separates water present in the air stream. The water separating container includes an air inlet having an air inlet opening and an air outlet having an air outlet opening. An impact wall for separating the water present in the air stream is disposed between the air inlet and the air outlet.

1. A water separating container for a motor vehicle for passing through an air stream sucked in from outside the motor vehicle and for separating water present in the air stream, the water separating container comprising:
an air inlet having an air inlet opening and an air outlet having an air outlet opening; and an impact wall for separating the water present in the air stream, the impact wall disposed between the air inlet and the air outlet; wherein the air outlet opening is provided with a shielding wall which extends at least along a lower side of the air outlet opening; wherein the shielding wall forms an overflow edge, configured to prevent an undesired flow of water through the air outlet opening.
