Access control systems for computing devices searches for an identifier (ID) of a physical key and determine whether the physical key is paired. If the physical key is paired, the access control system generates an authorization signal equivalent to an input of a valid password. If the physical key is not paired, the access control system determines whether the physical key is authentic and, if so, proceeds with a pairing process. In other embodiments, the physical key is used to redeem virtual credits exchangeable for value in an e-commerce interface. |
