A method and apparatus for controlling or determining transmit power of transmissions on more than one component carrier (CC) is disclosed. A WTRU may set a transmit power for each of a plurality of channels mapped to multiple CCs. The channels may include at least one physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) and may also include at least one physical uplink control channel (PUCCH).

1. A wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) capable of transmitting via multiple component carriers (CCs), the WTRU comprising:
a receiver configured to receive a WTRU maximum total power constraint, a first CC maximum power constraint for transmitting via a first CC, and a second CC maximum power constraint for transmitting via a second CC; and a transmitter configured to:
transmit at a first CC transmit power via the first CC based on the WTRU maximum total power constraint, the first CC maximum power constraint, and a first group power constraint for transmitting via a first group of CCs, wherein the first group of CCs includes the first CC;transmit at a second CC transmit power via the second CC based on the WTRU maximum total power constraint, the second CC maximum power constraint, and the first group power constraint for transmitting via the first group of CCs, wherein the first group of CCs further includes the second CC; andtransmit at third transmit power via at least a third CC based on the WTRU maximum total power constraint and a second group power constraint for transmitting via a second group of CCs, wherein the second group of CCs includes the third CC.
