<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle communication device capable of making group travel more comfortable.SOLUTION: In a transmission control process performed by the on-vehicle communication device, as long as a receiving intensity of a signal transmitted from the other on-vehicle communication device that is a communication counterpart is lower than a first threshold intensity (S130; YES) while the on-vehicle communication device is configured to detect the receiving intensity, the on-vehicle communication device transmits a wireless information signal including vehicle status information indicating a current status of a vehicle including this on-vehicle communication device to the other on-vehicle communication device via a middle-range wireless communication unit (S140). That is, as the receiving intensity of the signal transmitted from the communication counterpart is higher, the distance between the vehicle and the other vehicle (communication counterpart) becomes longer. Owing to this, if this distance increases, it is possible to notify a driver of the vehicle of a current status of the other vehicle. In this way, since the wireless information signals as well as the vehicle status information are transmitted/received only if necessary, for other occasions, the wireless information signals can be transmitted/received for purposes of sharing other information between users.</p> |
