A server system wherein a plurality of servers are grouped into a plurality of groups in accordance to the physical locations thereof, said server system being provided with at least one grid power supply means for distributing and supplying grid power to each of the plurality of groups. Each of the plurality of groups has a battery providing at least two servers included in that group with stored power. The server system is also provided with control means for controlling each server included in one group on the basis of the power that can be supplied from the grid power supply means and the battery.
