PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon material excellent in conductivity and productivity.SOLUTION: A carbon material characterized in that it has a D band and a G band in the Raman spectrum and the ratio of the respective intensities ID and IG, ID/IG, is 0.01 to 1.0, and in that a region indicating the existence of crystalline carbon and a region indicating the existence of amorphous carbon are observed in the range of 2&thetas;=18 to 30° in the X-ray diffraction spectrum and the percentage of the area of the region indicating the existence of amorphous carbon to the total peak area observed in the range of 2&thetas;=18 to 30°, is 20 to 80%. |
