<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can sufficiently remove attached substances, such as an untransferred toner and toner additive attached to the surface of an image carrier with a cleaning rotating body without controlling to vary the rotation speed and rotation direction of the cleaning rotating body, and prevents the acceleration of the wear on the surface of the image carrier resulting from the slide contact of the cleaning rotating body with the image carrier.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus receives input of a job command, and then determines "the amount of toner input per unit time" input to a brush-like roller (cleaning rotating body) in one job (step S6), and varies the time T3 required for the drive of a photoreceptor drum (image carrier) and the brush-like roller to be stopped in one job on the basis of a result of the determination (steps S7 and S14).</p> |
