<p>The fuel system for introducing liquid fuel into the cylinders of a piston engine comprises a fuel tank (1) for storing the fuel, a pump (2) for pressurizing the fuel, at least one fuel injector (3) for injecting fuel into a cylinder of the engine, and a fuel pipe (4) for supplying fuel from the pump (2) to the fuel injector (3). The fuel system further comprises an outer pipe (5) that is arranged around the fuel pipe (4) for forming a fluid volume between the fuel pipe (4) and the outer pipe (5), a source of inert gas (7), and means (6, 20) for introducing inert gas from the gas source (7) into the fluid volume between the fuel pipe (4) and the outer pipe (5).</p> |
