METHOD OF CONTROLLING AN OVERCURRENT AND ORGANIC LIGHT EMITTING DISPLAY DEVICE PERFORMING THE METHOD

An overcurrent control method for an organic EL display panel including an organic EL device which displays an image comprises the steps of: generating a driving voltage for the organic EL device; sensing a current of a flexible circuit film mounted on the organic EL display panel and including a driving voltage line which transfers the driving voltage to generate a detection signal; and controlling generation of the driving voltage, based on the detection signal received from the flexible circuit film. Thus, when a current is abnormally concentrated into the flexible circuit film which functions as an inlet port of the organic EL display panel and transfers the driving voltage, an operation of a power supply unit can be forcibly stopped to prevent display quality from being deteriorated due to a change in color of a polarizer and protect the organic EL display panel against a risk such as fire.
