PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and a program capable of acquiring an image necessary for generating a wide field angle image easily and efficiently. SOLUTION: In an imaging apparatus, based on a first reference image shot by a CCD5, a CPU 11 displays in an image display part 15 a marker indicating the imaging direction of a second and the following images for generating a wide field angle image, and shoots an image (high picture quality image) for generating a wide field angle image when a digital camera 1 is turned to the image direction indicated by the marker. Then, whenever an image is shot, the CPU 11 shoots an image (high picture quality image) for sequentially generating a wide field angle image if the digital camera 1 is turned to the shooting direction indicated by the marker and stores the image as an effective image while moving the marker to the next image direction and displaying the marker. When the shooting is finished, the CPU 11 synthesizes the plurality of effective images stored so that some parts are overlapping, thereby generating a wide field angle image which would not be able to obtain with one shot.
