PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an important object managing apparatus by which management of an object to be lent is performed strictly. SOLUTION: The important object managing apparatus includes: a plurality of storage compartments each including a locking device and housing an object; an object management table for storing object information for identifying each object associated with the storage compartment to house the object; an object information acquisition unit for acquiring the object information from a recording medium attached to the object; and a control unit for controlling and unlocking the locking device of the storage compartment stored in the object management table associated with the acquired object information, when the object information is acquired by the object information acquisition unit to put the object into the storage compartment.
