The present invention relates to a dual mode charging connector for charging a portable terminal at high speed by selectively connecting one side of a USB port and performing data communication, or charging the portable terminal without data communication. The dual mode charging connector has a first data terminal unit for data communication and a first charging terminal unit for charging formed on one side, and a second data terminal unit and a second charging terminal unit formed on the other side. The dual mode charging connector includes a plug of which one end is inserted into a connection port; a body in which the plug is installed in order for one end of the plug to be protruded; and a switch short-circuits the second data terminal unit when the second charging terminal unit is connected to the connection port by inserting the plug into the connection port. |
