The present invention relates to an apparatus for processing gift certificates and a financial device. The apparatus for processing gift certificates according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a medium input/output unit through which a gift certificate is inputted and cash is discharged; a recognition unit which recognizes the inputted gift certificate and cash to be discharged; a gift certificate storage unit which stores the recognized gift certificate; a cash storage unit which stores the cash to be discharged; and a module control unit which returns the inputted gift certificate to the medium input/output unit if the inputted gift certificate is an abnormal gift certificate as a result of the recognition by the recognition unit, and keeps the inputted gift certificate in the gift certificate storage unit, draws out the amount of cash corresponding to the gift certificate kept in the gift certificate storage unit from the cash storage unit, and discharge the cash through the media input/output unit if the inputted gift certificate is a normal gift certificate. |
