<p>The invention is a method for the production of electricity using a single nuclear heat source comprising a nuclear fission core (1.1, Fig. 1) made up of plutonium or uranium contained within a lead casing (1.2). The nuclear heat source is held within a large reaction chamber (3.2, Fig. 3) filled with hydrogen gas, the heat from the nuclear reaction creating a hot plasma within the chamber. The hot plasma 4.2 is released via at least one slow release valve 4.1 into containment pipes 4.6 filled with air, the hot plasma heating the air so as to cause it to expand and move through the pipes. These air convection currents 4.3 drive a plurality of impulse turbine engines or fans 4.4 arranged along the circumference of the pipes, thereby taking advantage of the high air speed in the pipes to generate electricity.</p> |
