摘要 The invention concerns processes for forming a polymer comprising residues of 2-(4-amino phenyl)-5(6) amino benzimidazole (DAPBI), paraphenylene diamine (PPD), and terephthaloyl dichloride, comprising the steps of: (a) forming a solution of oligomers having amine end groups from two moles of DAPBI and one mole of terephthaloyl dichloride in a solvent system comprising an organic solvent and an inorganic salt; (b) adding PPD to the solution of oligomers; and (c) adding additional terephthaloyl dichloride to form a polymer.
