PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical device including a carboranyl magnesium electrolyte.SOLUTION: The present disclosure specifically relates to an electrochemical device including a magnesium anode, a cathode, a collector made of non-noble metal and a carboranyl magnesium electrolyte. The non-noble metal cathode collector has extremely high oxidation stability of more than 3.0 V at magnesium reference when brought into contact with the electrolyte. There is further provided a process for making an electrochemical device.
