<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine for allowing intake asynchronous injection in combination with the formation of minus overlap while preventing or inhibiting the worsening of exhaust emission resulting from the flow of fuel injected with the intake asynchronous injection into a cylinder in the form of droplets.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine 50 includes a fuel injection valve 56, a valve gear 60 and an ECU 70. In the internal combustion engine 50, when an engine temperature is lower than a predetermined value (for example, a cooling water temperature THW is lower than a predetermined value T1), the valve gear 60 closes an exhaust valve 55 on the further advance side than the exhaust top dead center of a piston 53 to form minus overlap between an intake valve 54 and the exhaust valve 55. Besides, the fuel injection valve 56 performs intake asynchronous injection so that an injection starting timing is later as the early closing amount of the exhaust valve 55 is smaller.</p> |
