PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device that, even when a residual quantity of an ink ribbon is used up in the way of a printing operation, allows a cassette for storing the ink ribbon to be replaced.SOLUTION: The printing device, to which a cassette having an ink ribbon stored can be detachably attached, comprises: printing means for transferring ink of the ink ribbon on a sheet; conveyance means for holding and conveying the sheet; residual quantity detection means for detecting the residual quantity of the ink ribbon; and control means that when the residual quantity detection means detects that the residual quantity of the ink ribbon is used up in the way of printing on the sheet, causes the conveyance means to hold the sheet and, when the cassette having the ink ribbon stored is attached and detached, causes the conveyance means to convey the sheet to a retreat position where the cassette and the sheet do not interfere with each other. |
