A prepn. for removing or suppressing tooth coatings consists of a carrier and dextranase contg. 5 to 100,000 units of dextranase per mg of dry prepn. or 5000-100,000 units per ml of liquid prepn. Suitable carriers are tooth pastes and powders, mouth washes, ointments, chewing gum, pastilles etc. The prepn. reduces incidence of caries and removes gingival irritants. |
