PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a breaker topping, in which high mileage property, fracture strength and heat ageing resistance are improved in a good balance while excellent processability is achieved, and to provide a pneumatic tire manufactured by using the rubber composition.SOLUTION: The rubber composition for a breaker topping comprises: a modified natural rubber that is highly purified and adjusted to a pH of 2 to 7; and carbon black.
