PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of stabilizing an amount of developer inside a developing device and suppressing the discharge of the developer having less deterioration.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 includes a developing device 2 and a control part 70. The developing device 2 can be rotated at the number H of rotations and the number L of rotations of a speed lower than the number H of rotations, and includes an agitating member 42 for changing an amount of a developer discharged to the outside of the developing device 2 according to a rotational speed. The control part 70 switches the rotational speed of the agitating member 42 from the number L of rotations to the number H of rotations after the elapse of a first time when the agitating member 42 starts a rotary driving by the number L of rotations. The amount of the developer inside the developing device 2 transits within a range equal to or more than a central value Gc of a proper range and equal to or less than an upper limit value Gb. |
