PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission that prevents input of high load to a torque converter upon switching from a reverse range to a forward range so as to prevent engine stall.SOLUTION: A control section brings a switching mechanism into a reverse rotation inhibition state when a shift position is in a forward range, and brings the switching mechanism into a fixed state when the shift position is in a reverse range. When a vehicle is traveling toward the reverse side and the shift position is switched from the reverse range to the forward range, the control section controls an engagement mechanism so that an input section is free to rotate and the rotation of an output section is inhibited when a vehicle speed is a first predetermined speed or more. |
