<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability of a user in subject recapturing operation even when a subject gets out of a field angle during telescopic photographing.SOLUTION: An imaging device comprises a first operation unit via which a user instructs change of a zoom position, subject detecting means for detecting a subject from an image, and control means for controlling the zoom position according to the operation of the first operation unit. When the first operation is performed via the first operation unit, the control means executes first mode. If the subject detected by the subject detecting means is included outside a first region set in the image in the first mode, the control means controls the zoom position to move to a first zoom position on a wide-angle side and sets the zoom position before zoom movement at a second zoom position. If the subject detected by the subject detecting means at the first zoom position is included in the second region set in the region corresponding to the second zoom position, the control means controls the zoom position to move to the second zoom position.</p> |
