[Problem] To provide an optical sensor attachment structure for an image display device having a configuration whereby the amount of light from a backlight can be accurately measured by measuring LED light leakage, without modifying an image display panel module itself. [Solution] An image display device using an image display panel module having an opening (152) for pulling through wiring from the backlight (150), formed in a panel metal plate (105), said image display device comprising: an optical sensor (12) that measures light leakage (C2) from the backlight (150); and a positioning member (intermediate connector (153)) for positioning the optical sensor (12). The optical sensor (12) is arranged adjacent to the opening (152) for pulling through wiring and measures light leakage (C2) from the opening for pulling through wiring.
