PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device capable of performing overcurrent suppression of a light-emitting element while avoiding increase in a circuit configuration.SOLUTION: A lighting device 100 comprises a step-up chopper circuit 50 and a step-down chopper circuit 51. The step-up chopper circuit 50 and the step-down chopper circuit 51 comprise connectors 14a and 14b to which a power supply terminal connected with a rectification circuit 2 for rectifying an AC commercial power supply 1, and an LED 15 are connected, and generate a DC current to be supplied to the connectors 14a and 14b from a DC voltage rectified by the rectification circuit 2. The lighting device 100 comprises an overvoltage detection circuit 53 detecting voltage of the connectors 14a and 14b, and an overcurrent detection circuit 54 detecting an overcurrent of the LED 15. The lighting circuit 100 comprises a control IC 22. The control IC 22 reduces a supply current to the LED 15 when at least one of voltage detected by the overvoltage detection circuit 53 and voltage detected by the overcurrent detection circuit 54 reaches a protection operation voltage Vp. |
