PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide antibodies specific for urokinase-type plasminogen-activator receptor (uPAR) and antigen-binding fragments thereof, and use thereof for treatment or prevention of cancer.SOLUTION: The invention relates to antibodies or antigen-binding fragments thereof that modulates downstream signaling of a urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR) or modulates the level of uPAR on the cell surface. These antibodies interfere with uPAR signaling. Such antibodies are used in diagnostic and therapeutic methods against cancer.
