摘要 This detection apparatus (100), which is used to detect a target substance that may be contained in a specimen, is provided with a plurality of metal nanoparticles, a light-trap light source (101), an illuminating light source (102), an objective lens (103), an imaging device (108), and a computation unit (106). Each of the metal nanoparticles is modified with probe DNA that is capable of specifically attaching to the target substance. The light-trap light source (101) emits polarized light that makes the metal nanoparticles aggregate. The objective lens (103) collects said polarized light and introduces same into a liquid that contains the specimen and the metal nanoparticles. The imaging device (108) receives light from said liquid. The computation unit (106) detects the target substance on the basis of a signal from the imaging device (108).
