A thin sanitary towel which does not cause a feeling of discomfort during use, has an excellent barrier effect on bodily fluid, and has a three-dimensional gathered structure that prevents inward collapse. In a folded state, the present invention has a lower layer-side folded-back surface (7a), and an upper layer-side folded-back surface (7b) due to a side non-woven fabric (7) being folded back. An outward-extending margin (7c), which extends the upper layer-side folded-back surface (7b) outwards from an absorbent body-side edge (4a), is provided to the upper layer-side folded-back surface (7b), and an inner-side elastic member (8) is disposed at a width direction intermediate section that corresponds to a non-bonded region (14) of the upper layer-side folded-back surface (7b). In a raised state, the area from the inner-side elastic member (8) to an inner-side edge section (13a) of a bonded region acts as a raised wall (Gc), where the inner-side edge section (13a) of the bonded region (13) is the base point, by being raised towards the skin. A portion at the outer side from the inner-side elastic member (8) acts as a skin contact surface (Gd) during use, and the portion acting as the skin contact surface (Gd) moves further outwards in the towel width direction when in the raised state than in the folded state. |
