The present invention relates to a cathode current collector for a magnesium secondary battery and to a manufacturing method thereof. According to various embodiments of the present invention, the cathode current collector for a magnesium secondary battery, which includes a nickel plating layer or a nickel alloy plating layer on both surfaces of a copper foil and includes a protrusion structure on the surface of the plating layer, is chemically very stable in an electrolytic solution and can have adhesion to an electrode active material increased. Therefore, if the cathode current collector according to the embodiment of the present invention is used for the cathode of a magnesium secondary battery, electrical conductivity is increased, discharge capacity is increased and cycle lifetime is extended.
