<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress preignition when the preignition is generated, and to enable transition to a stable self-ignition combustion operation.SOLUTION: A control device of an internal combustion engine comprises: a variable valve mechanism which changes at least either of phases or lift amounts of an intake valve and an exhaust valve of the internal combustion engine; determination means which determines whether or not preignition is generated; and control means which controls the variable valve mechanism according to a determination result of the determination means. The control device of the internal combustion engine can also perform a self-ignition combustion operation. When it is determined that the preignition is generated by the determination means, the control means controls the variable valve mechanism so as to possess a period that both the intake valve and the exhaust valve are closed in a process that the internal combustion engine is changed to an intake stroke from an exhaust stroke.</p> |
