The present specification relates to a method and an apparatus for displaying a message. According to an embodiment of the present specification, the method for displaying a message comprises the steps of: acquiring transmission messages transmitted to an opponent device, and reception messages received from the opponent device; and displaying the contents of the transmission messages and the contents of the reception messages in chronological order. Displaying the contents of the messages includes displaying the contents of group messages transmitted to two or more receivers among the transmission messages such that the group messages can be distinguished from non-group messages. According to the embodiment of the present specification, a user can conveniently check messages.
