An electronic device (100) including a projection module (201) and a control method thereof are disclosed. The electronic device (100) includes: a display module (151); a camera (121) configured to capture a user gesture; the projection module (201) configured to project a virtual control object (10) on a plane (20) within a predetermined distance from the electronic device (100); and a controller (180) configured to display on the display module (151) a screen associated with operations running on the electronic device (100), and upon receiving a predetermined user gesture through the camera (121), project a virtual control object (10) on the plane (20) through the projection module (201) to control at least one of the operations running on the electronic device (100) at the time when the user gesture is received. Accordingly, a virtual control object (10) for controlling an operation running on the electronic device (100) can be projected on a plane (20). |
